Sparticipation Ramen Stickers

Printed Sparticipation ramen stickers

Sparticipation is Michigan State University's annual involvement fair, held during Fall Welcome, where hundreds of student organizations set up tables to meet new students. In 2022, Element Church's outreach there was a simple idea: hand students a pack of ramen.

We handed out thousands of ramen packets with these stickers on them. The first sticker is built to look like the packet itself — a ramen-style label with the Element Church wordmark and the line “if your life were ramen, Jesus is your water. Let's get you together,” a bowl of noodles with a town street scene behind it, the website, and Sunday morning at 10:30 at the Kellogg. The second is an info sticker: service time and address, a QR code, and a small map showing the Kellogg Center, Brody, Kellogg parking, and the bus routes (15, 18, 20, 25, 31, and 34) that get students there.

My working files run from July 15, 2022, when the ramen artwork and wordmark files start, through the final info sticker on August 12 and a photo of the printed stickers on August 24, 2022.

It worked. Months later, people came to church with stories about how the ramen led them to us.
